Isabel Flores finished her studies in journalism in the city
of México at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana.
After graduating worked for several magazines and newspapers
in Mexico City. When she moved to Michigan she attended Grand
Rapids Community College to finish learning English. In Michigan
she became editor of a local Newspaper in Grand Rapids, a few
years later she became the co-founder of Lazo Cultural.
She took an absence of leave from Lazo Cultural to become the
coordinator for the Institute of the Mexicans Abroad in the
Consulate of Mexico in Detroit. All her duties in Lazo are now
handled by our publisher Mr. Luis García.
In her new position she accomplished several tasks including
the coordination for the visit of former Mexican President
Vicente Fox Quesada to Michigan in 2004.
At this time she is in charge of the visas department at the
Mexican consulate in Detroit.
